	Bowdle's Claim to Fame Bowdle has the tallest municipal water tower in the entire state of South Dakota! The tower was accidentally delivered by train to Bowdle instead of Timber Lake. Today our water tower is part of South Dakota trivia and the namesake for our annual Tower Day celebration held during the last weekend in June. Bowdle is located on Highway 12 ( between Aberdeen & Mobridge, SD - 55 miles west of Aberdeen or 40 miles east of Mobridge)

Bowdle was founded in 1886. Bowdle's 75th Jubilee was held in 1961, the Centennial was celebrated in 1986, and the Quasquicentennial in 2011!
